Requirements:
The studentship will especially suit a graduate with a biochemistry, biomedical sciences or biology degree with strong molecular and cellular biology content. An interest in one or more of the following areas will be essential: microRNAs, developmental biology, synthetic biology and cancer. A number of different projects are also available upon request. Are you interested to understand the role of microRNAs in complex developmental transitions and in the pathogenesis of human diseases? Then consider applying for a 3-year PhD studentship funded by the Medical Research Council at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine
Description:
The studentship, available to start October 2011, will provide financial support for university and college fees (Home/EU rates) and a stipend at a rate of £17,400 pa.
The selected student will work under the supervision of Dr Tudor Fulga in the excellent research environment of the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine http://www.imm.ox.ac.uk/. The Fulga laboratory is a new research group which will be established in June 2011. The research group are interested in understanding the role of microRNAs in complex developmental transitions and in the pathogenesis of human disease.
