Organization: University of Pittsburgh

Location: Pittsburgh, USA

Field: Biochemistry

Requirements:

The candidate must have a PhD or MD/PhD in the fields of molecular pharmacology/cell biology/Chemical Biology or Biophysics and have authored at least 2 articles published in international journals.

Abstract:

The Laboratory for GPCR Biology located at the Department of Pharmacology & Chemical Biology, and funded by the NIH is seeking a candidate for a post-doctoral fellowship position in an interdisciplinary research program aimed at elucidating molecular mechanisms of signal transduction mediated by G-protein coupled receptors in renal, skeletal and other cell systems

Description:

The Laboratory for GPCR Biology located at the Department of Pharmacology & Chemical Biology, and funded by the NIH is seeking a candidate for a post-doctoral fellowship position in an interdisciplinary research program aimed at elucidating molecular mechanisms of signal transduction mediated by G-protein coupled receptors in renal, skeletal and other cell systems. Fluorescence (FRET, TIRF, FRAP, FCS), biochemical, pharmacological, cellular and molecular biology techniques will be used to study transmembrane signaling and intracellular trafficking mechanisms in the context of neurotransmitter, and peptide hormone/G protein-coupled receptor systems. Particular areas for development include: molecular mechanisms of Parathyroid hormone action in bone and kidney. The research project will determine mechanisms by which GPCRs and G-protein regulate cell signalin.

The University of Pittsburgh is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employers with strong institutional commitments to diversity. Women and minority candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
